Building Out Your VB WRX's Exterior in Carbon Fiber

The VB WRX has one of the deepest carbon fiber catalogs we carry, which is great once you know what you're doing but can be a lot to sort through when you're starting from zero. Here's how the exterior parts break down by area of the car.

Front end

This is where the biggest panels live. The dry carbon front grille replaces the factory grille surround outright, and the front underlip, styled off the STI underlip, adds depth to the lower bumper without needing a full bumper swap. If you want to go further, the 4-piece front bumper cover set wraps the rest of the lower bumper to match.

Fenders and rear bumper: the big-ticket pieces

The fender covers and rear bumper covers are the largest panels in the VB range: direct overlay covers that adhere over the factory panels with 3M tape, no cutting or panel removal. These are the parts that change the car's silhouette rather than just adding trim detail, which is why they're priced at the top of the range. If budget is the deciding factor, these are the ones to save for rather than the ones to skip.

Finishing details

Once the big panels are sorted, mirror caps, fog light covers, and door edging round the car out without much install time each. The bootlid lip spoiler and vortex generator do the same for the rear: smaller parts, but they're what makes the back of the car match the effort that's gone into the front.

A sensible build order

If you're doing this in stages rather than all at once: front grille and underlip first (cheapest way to change the face of the car), then fenders or rear bumper covers when budget allows (biggest visual jump), then mirror caps, fog light covers, and the rear pieces to finish it off. There's no wrong order, but that's the sequence that tends to keep the car looking intentional at every stage rather than half-finished.
